We’re looking for passionate writers who want to help! Practical tips and step-by-step guides are especially welcome. You can get in touch with us if you’re good at making lessons or introductory content on a wide range of topics.
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- How-To Guides and Tutorials: Articles that break down complex topics into easy-to-follow instructions.
- Introductory Posts: Posts that offer a thorough introduction to specific subjects.
- Curated Resource Pages: Posts that compile valuable resources on a particular topic.
- Approved Formats: We welcome any other formats that meet our guidelines.
Interested? Here’s How to Get Started:
- Review Our Guidelines: Before you submit, please check our writer’s rules and the contributor guidelines listed below.
- Fill Out the Application: Complete our Writer Application form to express your interest.
Contributor Guidelines
We generally categorise our writers into two groups:
- Passionate Homesteading Writers: If you’re deeply passionate about homesteading and writing, we have a few paid slots available for ongoing authors. These positions are usually reserved for writers who have previously worked with us.
- Guest Post Contributors: If you’re looking to write a guest post to promote something, please note that our quality standards are quite high. This typically applies to:
- Those promoting a business they own or work for.
- Bloggers who monetise through means other than banner ads, like selling ebooks or courses.
- Marketing professionals promoting a client.
In these cases, your writing should exceed the quality of our usual content, and any personal biases or conflicts of interest should be clearly stated.
What Makes a Great Post?
To understand what constitutes a high-quality guest post, consider the following:
- Length: Aim for posts between 600 to 2,000 words or longer if necessary.
- Educational Value: Focus on providing valuable information rather than direct promotion.
- Practicality: Offer actionable advice that directly benefits our readers.
- Multimedia: Incorporate original photos, videos, or other media that haven’t been used elsewhere.
- Credibility: Support your content with well-researched references and sources.
- Expertise: Write about topics where you have genuine experience. For instance, don’t submit a guide on building an aquaculture tank if you haven’t actually done it.
We look forward to seeing your contributions and working together to provide valuable content to our readers!
